BLOODROOT RESERVE WINS BEST SCREENPLAY AT PAIFF
QUINTANA ROO, MEXICO — Kerra Bolton, writer and director, has won “Best Screenplay” at the Puerto Aventuras International Film Festival (PAIFF) for her original project, Bloodroot Reserve.
Set in the American South, Bloodroot Reserve is a Southern Gothic eco-thriller centered on three sisters who inherit a winery, blending family tension with psychological undercurrents.
Bolton, founder of Woodbine Studio, submitted the screenplay alongside a visual presentation designed to convey the tone and world of the project. The submission stood out for its clarity and execution.
“Kerra Bolton’s screenplay and presentation demonstrated a clear vision and a high level of execution,” said festival director Dewey Paul Moffitt. “It was a standout submission.”
This award marks Bolton’s first recognition in screenwriting and follows prior wins in directing and documentary filmmaking.
Bolton is currently developing The Bitter Reserve, a limited series.
